Role overview

We are building a roster of experienced accounting professionals across Canada who are interested in remote work with U.S. clients. Assignments can range from ongoing roles to seasonal or project based engagements, depending on client needs and your availability.If you are anywhere from a strong intermediate to a seasoned senior accountant or manager, and you enjoy remote work, we would like to review your application.

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary by client and engagement, but may include:

• Preparing and reviewing financial statements and management reports
• Supporting month end and year end close processes
• Assisting with tax preparation and tax related support for U.S. clients
• Assisting with audit and assurance work, including working papers and reconciliations
• Performing full cycle accounting, including reconciliations and analysis
• Identifying issues in client financials and proposing or posting adjustments
• Collaborating with client teams remotely and communicating clearly on progress and deadlines

Requirements

• Reside in Canada and legally eligible to work in Canada
• Solid professional experience in accounting, preferably in public practice or similar high responsibility roles
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills
• Proficiency with common accounting software and remote collaboration tools
• Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple tasks or clients when needed

Preferred qualifications

• Canadian or U.S. CPA designation is preferred
• Experience with U.S. based clients or exposure to U.S. GAAP or U.S. tax
• Experience in taxation or auditing
• Experience in public accounting firms or multi client environments
• Interest in learning more about U.S. standards and regulations
• Experience supervising or reviewing the work of junior staff is an asset for senior level candidates
